Tally is the desktop standard in Indian accounting and it earned that position — a generation of accountants can drive it without looking at the screen. tBiz is built for the businesses that have outgrown a single-PC licence: teams across branches, owners who want the books on a phone, and companies paying separately for payroll and CRM.

On a desktop licence a second location means a second installation, a sync arrangement and a consolidation exercise at month end. In tBiz both branches write to one company, and the branch-wise trial balance is a filter rather than a merge.
Attendance, shifts and advances live next to the ledger, so the salary journal posts itself. No spreadsheet round-trip, no manual journal, and the PF and ESI figures come out of the same run rather than a second one.
A quotation raised on a phone becomes an order and then an invoice against the same party ledger — with the outstanding balance and credit limit visible to the person standing in front of the customer.
Filing. Tally’s e-invoice and e-way bill connectors are in production and ours are not: tBiz builds and validates the payload but does not yet transmit it to the portal. If that round-trip is the thing you cannot do without today, that is a real reason to wait.
For most small and mid-sized businesses, yes. tBiz covers double-entry vouchers, ledgers, GST returns, inventory and manufacturing, and adds cloud and mobile access, CRM, payroll and field-staff tracking in the same product. The one place Tally is ahead today is transmitting e-invoices and e-way bills to the portal.
Yes. tBiz imports Tally masters, opening balances and Day Book vouchers, bringing the vouchers across as balanced journals with exact totals. What it does not do is re-create each old sale as an itemised GST invoice — that line detail stays in your Tally data, which is why most people keep the old file as an archive.
Yes. Voucher entry is keyboard-driven with shortcut keys and a visible key strip, and the concepts — groups, ledgers, vouchers, cost centres — are the same, so Tally-trained accountants keep their muscle memory.
There is no published rate card for either product that would make an honest comparison — Tally is priced per seat and per edition, tBiz is priced per workspace with unlimited users. Tell us what you run and we will price it in writing, which is usually the only comparison that matters.
Masters, opening balances and Day Book vouchers import from a Tally export as balanced journals. Start on the free plan and run both in parallel for a month if you want to be sure.
Import your masters, raise a week of invoices in each, and compare the books rather than the brochures.
